Hurray!!! Finally Won The New Paper Auction!!!

Posted by Carol at 10:44 PM 0 comments
The News Paper announced that there would be a auction which required the original coupons (found on the left corner of the Front Page).. If we bid for any items we like, we must produce original bid coupons to match our bidding amounts. If the bid amount not matched, would be disqualified and would be given to next bidder..

I bidded for Redang Island Cruise (2nd Series) for 18k but no luck.. :( and continued to keep the coupons to bid for next series..

After the cruises series, I eyed on the Nano pod because this item got 10 quantities which I got high chance to win the bid.. Then I bidded 45k for this item.. and asked my mum in law to keep my handphone with her at all times in case receive a call because I could not talk via phone..

Yesterday (9 June 2009) morning about 11am, I did not expect to receive a sudden call from my mum in law who told me that i might win if I manage to produce 45k original coupons. and worse enough, must submit 45k coupons before 4 pm by yesterday (meant that I got 4 hours left to submit the coupons) ... my god... Then I sms-ed my mum in law again because I could not believe my eyes.. lor haha... I left my un-done work half way and rushed home to get the coupons and sms-ed my friends to meet me at somewhere to collect the coupons from them.

Thank god that I managed to raise 45k plus topping up of 18 newspapers which I purchased at last minute.... (spent $12.60 on 18 newspapers) and rushed to the S'pore Press Centre at Toa Payoh on time (about 3pm) which the deadline time was at 4pm... alamak!!!

The 2 staff from S'pore Press Centre counted and checked the coupons ensuring original and correct figures. They confirmed the correct figures and declared me the winner and gave me the congratulation letter which I was required to attend the prize ceremony at Wheellock Place (Orchard Road) on 13 June 2009.

Phew!!! Finally, I felt very relieved that everything was settled because I was running around crazily... haha.. :p

At home night, my mum in law told me that she told the staff off because seemed that they needed to check with their supervisor first due to my hearing-impairness.. She "scolded" the staff for not being fair to me because she was aware that I was "hard-working" to cut and collect so many coupons... After 10-15 mins later, my mum in law received a call again from them that they agreed on condition that i must produce 45k coupons. Then she asked for more mins to double-check with me...

I told my mum in law to proceed confirming 45k.. Then she phoned back about my confirmation of production of 45k and then they gave me their office address...

Look at this.. Don't tell me that the deafie can't do anything like normal people? Maybe they did not come across any deafies?

Never mind.. At least I won the prize because really difficult to win despite of so many kiasu bidders in Singapore... hehe :p

My Good Friends Supporters, I really appreciate your kind and generous helps during this auction period... Thank you very much!!!

Flaunting off my "hard-work" together with 2 staffs of Singapore Press Holdings... :p

When my family and friends checked in the chalets, my hubby and I noticed few red spots on Xavier's body.. Then we guessed that he caught it from his sister.. sigh.. never mind.. My hubby took my 2 kids to play at ExplorerKid for a while while we were getting ready to cut and sort the food items for korean BBQ...

After this, my hubby took Xavier home after his bath at the chalet and returned back to the chalet with Jackson very late about 11pm.. my god...

After we checked out from the chalet, we reached home to check on Xavier... my god.. so many pus and red spots over his body... poor him... his case was more worse than his sister...

Downtown East Chalet - 5th to 7th June 2009

I booked 5 chalets at Downtown East (Pasir Ris) from 5th to 7th June 2009 during school holidays.. wowow.. really excited looking forward to the chalets... hee.. Each chalet cost $250 only for 3 days and 2 nights including complimentary admission tickets to Wild Wild Wet, Escape Park, ExplorerKid and etc.. not bad and reasonable...

I called up for the final discussion about bbq foods at Bugis Junction one week before the actual day... Finally everything was settled :p
a) Kok Meng and Franky - purchase stingrays, tiger prawns and fruits from wholesale centre
b) Annie and Richard - bring the large bottle for drinks, alumimium foils and tongs
c) Esther, Judy and Susie - bring kitchen necessarities
d) Mine - kitchen necessarities and collect the bbq foods from bbq wholesale centre

Kok Meng brought the 2 stoves for korean bbq which he borrowed the korean "wok" from his boss did not mind to lend him.. wowow so kind of his boss who was actually an korean...

Thanks to Richard's mum and brother, his mum did not mind to cook the vegetable curry for us and his brother whipped the carrot cakes for us.. wow.. We really appreciated their great help.. *applausing them*

So wonderful, everybody really were good helpers and helped each other to make the camp enjoyable...

For my case, wrong timing for my son who got chicken pox when we checked in the chalet.. poor him... my hubby took him back to home after his bath at chalet and returned back to the chalet in night... sigh.. my son said that he was so sad and did not have a chance to enjoy the chalet.. I told him not to worry that we would take him again next time...
